AN EXPERIENCE WORTH SHARING

--> OCCASION: Twenty 20 World Cup Final - India Vs. Pakistan
The stage was set and people were eagerly waiting for the action to began. IITK's Students' Films Society decided to telecast the match in the Main Auditorium. Though this society had screened many matches earlier also but this was special. The aura that was created well before the first ball was delivered matched to the standards of Jam Packed stadium. Thanks to all budding engineers, scientists and humanists. All were cheering for India, being an Indian, I would have done the same but I tried the other way round - I cheered for Pakistan with two intentions. Firstly, I sincerely believe that Indian Cricket Team always lose the serious battle as it is seriously unpredictable (both declared and experienced) and secondly, there were so many to cheer for India, atleast one should be there to support Pakistan. At the end I realised that it added to the spice of enjoyment.
You won't believe this was one of the most memorable events of my life. I bet you can guess. Sitting in a place where all the cheers were for Indian team, someone shouting for the success of Pakistan Players and then being stared by them gave me a unique experience. As the match progressed the tension increased and so was my support for the rival team. I saw one fellow sitting two rows ahead of mine asked another fellow who is this girl who is shouting for Pakistan. Rest those who were sitting in row just behind they were shouting slogans like "Pakistan - Hai Hai." And I was enjoying every moment because as they say - "jo chidhta hai use chidhane mein aur bhi mazza aata hai." So the scene was like every one to support Indian team and only one female voice to shout for the other. The last over was all the more interesting as the match was evenly poised between the two teams. It was a 50 - 50 situation. After the loss of ninth wicket one of the guys sitting behind me wished me luck and said "Better Luck Next Time." And I replied "You Never Know" and then a sixer from the batsman. Hahha the situation was very dicey and everyone sat silent. The only voice that came was mine and it was "Ab kya ho gaya jo sab chup ho gaye, saans kyun ruk gayi?"
But on the whole the match was a wholesome entertainment and both the teams put in their best of efforts. With this blog I am not justifying that what I did on this day was Anti - Indian. It was something which I did intentionaly to experience how people feel when someone from their group is cheering the other team and then I learned:
- It gives pleasure when you go against the tide, and
- You are on your own when you do such adventures. Be ready to face the consequences.

Hi! I liked your blog yet I believe that you should have done more justice.
I have a different interpretation of the event. I was just trying to get into your shoes for a moment. I had a terrific feeling. Cricket match between India-Pakistan (yes it was final of 20-20), hall full of students cheering for India, one girl cheering for Pakistan, awesome and yet scary. When I say awesome I say kudos to your idea and I also shower praise to junta sitting in the hall. In a world seriously inflicted by liquid fear your idea was incredible. I give credit to junta they gave you space to dissent (even if you consider it acting, I guess many would have been ignorant of your tantrums). The credit goes to IITK culture. I feel scary when I think of similar situation in some other place.
I respect your point. [:)]
It is just on the situation and place where one dares to do something ... yes IITK culture is superb ... no doubt about it. [:)]
hi bhavna i think u r rebelious to some extent that sounds good bye the way I written a couplet while chatting with someone speical wanted ur expert comment on it
kash is waqt aap hamare hote
hum udhar hi hote aap jis kinare hote
aap hote hamre jigar aur hum aapke sahare hote
dil to dil jismon jaan aur meri har ek wafa sab tumhare hote
its very crude and it came instantly so i didnt refine it too
Rebellious ... well I won't agree to that ... I have my own perception to which people may agree or disagree ... I am what I feel at a particular time which can present me as diplomatic or arrogant or for that matter Rebellious too but I am not one though.
